Sonia Ivette Gonzalez, 56, of Bronx NY, passed away on November 24, 2016 at Montefiore Hospital. Funeral Viewing will be held on Monday Nov. 28th from 6-9 pm, Tuesday Nov. 29th 2-4pm & 6-9pm. On Wednesday Nov. 30,  Pastor David Hernquist from Van Nest Assembly of God will be providing a religious service at the Riverdale -on-Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Ave., Bronx . The service will begin at 11 am.    

Sonia Ivette Gonzalez was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico to her beloved mother, Iris Maldonado and her late father Felix Martinez. She married her loving husband Jesus Gonzalez on April 9, 1983. She was a dedicated and hard working registered nurse for 27 years at Montefiore hospital. She was known for her caring and nurturing ways with her patients. 

Sonia is survived by her beautiful children 1st son, Jesus Gonzalez, 33 years old, only daughter, Kristina Figueroa, 31, youngest son, Jeremy Gonzalez, 17. Grandchildren, Tristin Gonzalez, 6, Sofia Gonzalez, 4, Olivia Figueroa, 2. Brothers, Robert Rodriguez, Felix Martinez, Gabriel Martinez and Enrique Martinez. Sister, Ana Rodriguez. Most loving cousin and best friend Maribel Garcia- Eaton.

The Family of Sonia Gonzalez wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all the nurses, nursing attendants, doctors and hospital staff from Montefiore hospital that took such wonderful care of our beautiful angel. Special thanks to Dr. Anthony Ramirez & Dr. Solomon who gave the utmost care and respect for our mother.
