Catherine M. O'Malley

Catherine Margaret O'Malley (nee Clancy) was born in New York City, New York on September 29, 1933. On September 16, 2017, Catherine passed away at home and entered the eternal embrace of her heavenly father in the same manner which she had lived; with grace, peace and dignity.

Catherine is predeceased by her parents, John and Bridget Clancy, her sisters Mary Jornet, Noreen Hogan, Margaret Sullivan, and her brother Stephen Clancy. Catherine is survived by John O'Malley, her loving husband of 52 years. They were married in New York City, New York on February 20, 1965 at Holy Name Parish, NYC.

Catherine is lovingly remembered by her daughter Martha Kelly of Mahopac, New York; sons John O'Malley of Peekskill, New York, Michael O'Malley of White Plains, New York, and Robert O'Malley of New City, New York. Catherine, also known as Nana, is deeply missed by her cherished grandchildren Nicole Erin Walsh, Grace O'Malley, Colleen Kelly, Kaitlyn Kelly, Mia O'Malley, Sean Kelly and Aidan Kelly.

Catherine was also the beloved Mother-in- law of Michael Kelly, Andrea Reudy O'Malley, Kelly Blaine and Robert Miller.  Catherine was also the caring Aunt of her beloved neices and nephews.

The one thing that you would need to know about Catherine is that once you were her friend, you would never be alone.  Catherine opened her home and her heart to all who needed a meal,
a voice, or a shoulder to cry on.  Catherine became the mother to those who had lost their own, and she shared her love, guidance and wisdom with everyone she touched.  Now I know why you always asked us to be strong, because you knew that one day we would need the strength to bear your loss. Death thinks it can take you away from us.  But it doesn’t know you will always live in our memories. We love you and miss you so much.

Reposing Wednesday from 2-5 & 7-9 pm at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx NY.  Mass of Christian Burial Thursday 9:45 am at St. Margaret of Cortona Church. Committal Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx NY.
