Christine Van Oostrom passed away on March 9th, 2018 at Mt. Sinai Hospital Hospice Ct.  Her devoted husband John Kiernan was by her side.  Christine was a loving mother who is survived by her 5 children, Christine, Patricia (Glory), Joseph, Laura and Joanne.  Devoted grandmother of eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  Amazing sister to Marie Nicholson and her husband Brian.  She was also a cherished Aunt.  

Christine grew up in Washington Heights where she attended Incarnation Grammar School and was a graduate of George Washington High School.  She remained in the Heights where she raised her family.  Christine was a self educator who went into real estate and provided for her family. Chris was a dear friend to many she will be sorely missed.  Her memory will live on forever in our hearts.  

Reposing Tuesday, March 13, 2018 from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Ave., Bronx, NY.  Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, March 14 2018 at 10:45 a.m., St. Elizabeth’s Church, 187th Street and Wadsworth Ave., NYC.  Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery in Yonkers.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or Mt. Sinai Visiting Doctors.
