Robert Wall

Robert E. Wall passed away this last Sunday, September 9, 2018 from a pulmonary embolism.  Robert was born on August 29, 1932 in the Bronx, NY, but spent most of his childhood in Yorkville Manhattan, where he grew up with his two older brothers, Walter and Jack.  As an adult, he returned to the Bronx living much of his life in Riverdale. 

Robert attended Brooklyn Technical High School.  From there, he went on to pursue a number of different professions in engineering and construction, working variously as a draftsman, project manager, professional engineer, contractor, and sprinkler inspector.  He was a licensed master plumber since 1973.  Robert worked on numerous and significant building projects around New York, including the World Trade Center, New York Police Headquarters, and renovations to Grand Central Terminal and New York University Medical Center.  Outside of his professional life, he was a tenor who sang vocal works in both German and Italian, including Schubert’s “Die Winterreise” and various works from the bel canto repertoire.  He was an avid handball player, a sport he played until the end of his life.  Robert is survived by his wife, Agnes; his children Marion, Robert, Mark, Diana, Roland, Eric, and Ilona; and his grandchildren Joanna, Amelia, Julia, Emma, Ethan, Avi, and Devan. 

Robert Wall passed away on September 9, 2018. The will be a Memorial Gathering on Sunday September 16, 2018 from 11 am to 1:00 pm at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx NY 10471. The service to remember Robert will be held at 11:00 am in our chapel. The committal was private.
