Richard G. Brolly , 82 years young, passed away on November 23, 2019. He was known and loved by many, most notably as our beloved father, brother, husband, grandfather, father-in-law, uncle ,friend, veteran and dedicated Catholic.

Richie was the second child born to Patrick and Mary Brolly (nee Gallagher) who immigrated from Ireland in their youth. He grew up in the very tight neighborhood of Inwood, and for many years was able to name each and every friend and which apartment they lived in on their block. He served honorably in the Navy and married his Manasquan Beach sweetheart, Maureen Shanahan, with whom he had four children. While working full-time during the day and raising a young family , he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (attaining honors each of his 4 years) and his masters in Economics.

Richie retired at age 82 from a long, successful career in the telecommunications industry, where he rose from the mailroom to the boardroom and saw the world five times over. He was a storyteller, a lover of life and laughter, and was a dear friend to many. While he was a proud American, he was Irish in his bones and visited his family in Ireland every chance he could.

Richie was predeceased by his parents, his first wife (Maureen) , and his sister (Eileen) and leaves behind his wife Diane, his children (Tom, Theresa, Richard, and Peggy), and his nine granddaughters (Caitlin, Colleen, Danielle, Ciara, Leila, Carys, Faith, Emily, and Eloise). In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Richies’s name to Women’s Care Center, 1986 31st Ave., Suite 100, Vero Beach, Florida 32960

Reposing Wednesday November 27, 2019 from 2-5 & 7-9 pm at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Ave, Bronx NY. Mass of Christian Burial Friday 10 am at St. Gabriel’s Church. Interment Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, NY
