Vincent Schiera
VINCENT SCHIERA
May 14 1925 – December 19, 2019
Vincent left his home in Palermo, Italy and came to the US and settled in New York City. He became a proud US citizen. Vincent worked a number of years as a grocer. Later, he became the business owner of The Public Fish Market, which was the oldest fish market in Harlem. Vincent loved to visit the Italian bakeries and coffee shops, on the Lower East Side, on Sundays with his family. He was well known in his Washington Heights neighborhood as, Papi. He is survived by his daughter Mary Theresa Schiera Vega, her husband Eddie G. Vega and grandchildren Dina, Jenna and great granddaughter Mia. He also leaves behind his sister Rosa, nephews, Pepino, Giorgio, Nello and nieces, Marchella and Cetti in Palermo, Italy.
