Aidan Victor Hernandez, 15, of Yonkers NY, died on September 21, 2019 after a long struggle with CIC-DUX4 Sarcoma, a rare form of cancer. He was born on April 21, 2004 at NYU Hospital in Manhattan, the son of Maura Moloney and Victor Hernandez. The brother of Fiona Hernandez He lived in the Bronx prior to moving to Yonkers in 2011. Aidan attended St. Gabriel School in The Bronx, graduated in June 2018. Aidan began attending Iona Prep High School in New Rochelle in September 2018, where he completed all academic requirements for freshman year, he was promoted to Sophomore year.

Aidan was a parishioner of St. Gabriel R.C. Church in The Bronx, in addition to being an Altar Server for 5 years.

Aidan entered the Cub Scouts in the rank of Wolf. He crossed over to Boys Scouts completing the rank of Tenderfoot in Troop 240 The Bronx. Aidan enjoyed participating in sports. During his years in St. Gabriel School, he played Soccer in the Fall in the Riverdale Soccer League, and played Little League Baseball in the Spring for South Riverdale Little League. At Iona Prep, Aidan joined the Cross Country Track Team.

Aidan enjoyed Domino’s pizza, watching movies, the TV show “The Office” and reality TV shows “Little People” or “Wife Swap”. Aidan also enjoyed outdoor activities like hiking or swimming in the ocean. He Loved listening to Rap music.

Aidan had an infectious smile, he was accepting, kind and respectful of others. He had a genuine curiosity of the world always asking questions. Aidan is survived by his parents, Maura Moloney ,Victor Hernandez and his sister Fiona. He also leaves his maternal grandfather, John C. Moloney,(born in Shinrone Ireland) residing presently in Florida and a paternal grandmother, Julia Hernandez, of The Bronx. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Reposing Tuesday and Wednesday 4-8 pm at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, Inc., 6110 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx NY. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday September 26th 2019 10 am at St. Gabriel’s Church. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
