Robert Daly passed away into eternal life on October 27, 2021, peacefully and surrounded by family. Born in the Bronx to Lorraine and Robert Daly in 1953, he grew up in both Riverdale and in his beloved Watkins Glen in northwestern New York State.  He was a devoted husband to Grace for 36 years and a loving father to Alana and soon to be son-in-law, Jeff.  He is also survived by many family members that he cared for deeply.  He was a wonderful brother-in-law to Joanne, Rich, Bernadette, Danny and Helena.  He cherished his nieces and nephews, Richard, Kieran, Lauren, Daniel and Elizabeth.  He was also step-son to Anna Lou Daly and step-brother to Susie, Kathy and the late Linda.  He loved to keep up with his many cousins, Pam, Tom, Brian, Tim, Eileen, Christine, and his Aunt Kay and uncle Fr. Christopher Daly.  He spent his career operating cranes as part of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 14 &14b, and especially loved to participate in the KIDS committee within the union.  He was knowledgeable about many different subjects and was always a great source for advice, news, and current events.  He was a great amatuer chef, famous for his meatloaf, eggplant parmigiana, bruschetta and potato leek soup recipes.  He served as co-op board president in his apartment building for over 25 years.  Over the last 7½ years, he fought an incredible battle with cancer, always thinking positively and finding joy in all the small things.  Though we are sad, we are also so happy for him that he has been relieved of that struggle.  He will be greatly missed and we trust that he will be watching over us until we will see him again.

A viewing will be held Monday, November 1, 2021,  from 4-7 pm at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx NY. Mass will be 10:30 am Tuesday, November 2,, 2021, at St. Margaret of Cortona Church. Committal private.
