Albert Walter Crescenzo

Albert Walter Crescenzo passed away peacefully on March 30th 2022 at Calvary Hospital at the age of 87.  Albert was a loving husband for 45 years to Sheila (nee McGrath, deceased 2013) and is survived by his two children, Albert and Claire, his 3 grandchildren Abigail, Cassidy and Thomas, and his brother Leonard.

Born and raised in Queens, NY, Albert was the youngest of seven children. He worked for Consolidated Edison Company as a turbine mechanic for over 25 years and  met his future wife at a company sponsored dance there in 1967. He and Sheila made a good life for themselves in the Kingsbridge section of the Bronx, where they raised their children and he became a Yankees fan, after a lifetime of loving baseball.

Later in life he passed his days doting on his grandchildren, driving them to school and various sports activities.  Throughout his days he became known as “Big Al”, “Mr C” and most lovingly, “Pop-pop”, not only by his grandchildren but by those who got to know him later in his life.  He was a gentleman and was loved for his kind and friendly demeanor and sense of humor.  He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.
