Gerald “Jerry” McCarron passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 18. Jerry was the fourth of five children born to Irish immigrants Dympna and John McCarron from Counties Cavan and Donegal on August 2, 1966. 

Jerry’s childhood days were spent growing up in Riverdale. He attended St. Margaret Of Cortona Grammar School, Fordham Prep, and graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a Finance degree, later going on to become a Chartered Financial Analyst. Jerry spent most of his professional career with AIG.  

A proud, Bronx native and lifelong NYC resident, Jerry loved sports, in particular the NY Yankees and NY Giants. His impressive collection of ticket stubs is a testament to his love of sports and live (and loud!) music – for Jerry, the louder the better! 

Jerry is predeceased by his parents and his brother Sean and is survived by his brothers Andrew and Kevin, his sister Mary Sheridan (Sean), his sister-in-law Julie McCarron, his two nieces, Tara Wheeland (Danny) and Mary McCarron. Jerry was also a beloved great uncle to Penny and Otto Wheeland and will be missed deeply by his many cousins throughout the United States and Ireland. 

Jerry was also blessed with many wonderful friends for whom we are so grateful. From his childhood friends in The Bronx, to his colleagues at work, and his upper east side gang, Jerry was truly loved, and he was never happier than when hanging out and socializing with all of you.

Family and friends will honor Jerry’s life at the Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home on Monday, November 27, 2023 from 4 to 7pm.  Mass of Christian burial will be on Tuesday, November 28th at 10:30 am at St. Margaret of Cortona Church. Committal private.
