Beloved father, brother and U.S. Army veteran Christopher Harding, age 62, passed away unexpectedly on May 2, 2023. His departure has left a void in the lives of all who knew and loved him, but his memory will forever remain in our hearts.
Born in England, on August 3, 1960, Christopher immigrated to New York City as a young boy. After high school, he enlisted in the Army at the age of sixteen years and received his High School Diploma in the Service. Chris lived a life that exemplified bravery, selflessness and dedication. He proudly served his country with honor and integrity for 8 years demonstrating unwavering commitment to protecting the values and freedoms we all hold dear.
Beyond his military service, Chris was a devoted father who cherished his children above all else. He was a source of guidance, strength and inspiration teaching them the importance of family, loyalty and hard work. Christopher’s children will carry forth the lessons he imparted and the memories they shared.
Chris touched many lives in his community. His giving spirit endeared him to those in his orbit. As we mourn the loss of Chris, let us celebrate the person he became after overcoming so much.
Chris is survived by his daughter Kiana, his three sons Chris, Justin and Lukas as well as his sisters Catherine and Cheryl and his brother Nigel (Sheila). The bereaved also include his family in Ireland, his brother Alan, sister Kirsty, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A wake will be held at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, located at 6110 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx, NY from 2 to 5 pm on Wednesday, May 10, 2023. Christopher’s life will be celebrated at a Mass of Christian burial on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 9:45 am at St. Margaret of Cortona Catholic Church, 6000 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx, NY. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y.
