Geraldine Downey, born February 14, 1947, died peacefully at home on Saturday October 26, 2024. Gerry, as she was known to all, is survived by her brother Michael and sister Cathy. She is lovingly remembered by her 3 sons, Jimmy, Brian and Michael, their spouses, Jennifer, Erin and Emma, and her 8 beautiful grandchildren, Jimmy, Juliet, Fiona, Neve, Molly, Anna, Keely and Evelyn.

Gerry was pre-deceased by her parents Emmett and Florence Powers, brothers Tommy, Bobby, Danny, Patty, Terrence and Kevin, and her sister Teresa.

Gerry is peacefully reunited with her loving husband Jim.

A loyal friend to many, Gerry was a Bronx girl through and through. Though born in Brooklyn, she was raised in the Bronx and eventually started and raised her own family in Riverdale for over 40 years.

Gerry will be waked Wednesday October 30, 2024 from 3 to 8 pm at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home. The funeral will follow on Thursday October 31, 2024 at 9:45 am at St. Margaret of Cortona Church.
