Seymour Meiman on August 11, 2016. Seymour is the gentleman who tinkles on the piano in the morning at RSS. You will otherwise see him sitting quietly. Seymour is a native New Yorker. He served in WWII in the US Navy in China, Japan, & Philippine Islands right after high school. He received 3 medals for his service. A graduate of LI University with an Accounting & Business degree and he was later inspired by his sister to become a 5th grade teacher teaching Arithmetic. He is a very proud of his 25 years as a teacher. Married for 27 years, now a widow, he has 1 step-son and a step granddaughter. Seymour has lived in Riverdale for 35 years, 10 years as a member of RSS in which time he fondly recalls a pool table. Seymour finds Riverdale a quiet and convenient neighborhood in which he frequents Kappock Café. He admits he has not owned a television in the past 10 years, instead choosing to spend his time listening to WABC on the radio. You will find him reading and relaxing at RSS, where he embraces the quiet times here. Family will gather at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx NY on Sunday August 14th at 10:30 am. The Chapel Service is scheduled at 11 am. Graveside service to follow at 1pm at Beth David Cemetery, Elmont, NY.
