Sandra Hunter Grosin of New York, passed away on Wednesday, March 8th, 2017 at the age of 78. Sandra was born on December 26th, 1938 in East Tawas, Michigan to the late Clyde and Nina Hunter. She was a graduate of East Tawas High School, Class of 1956. Married Walter J. Grosin in 1958 and relocated to his hometown of Washington Heights, NYC. She taught nursery school and pre-K to generations of children at Washington Heights Children’s Center for over 40 years. Sandra is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Walter Jay Grosin of New York and her four children; Todd and wife Gen Grosin of Riverdale, Jeffrey and wife Esther Grosin of Stony Point, Hal and wife Anette Grosin of Ganheim, Germany, and Sandra Loglisci of Riverdale. Also, sister-in-law, Iris Grosin and brother-in-law, David Grosin. Grandchildren; Danielle, Christopher, Austin, Angela, Rebecca, Ryan, Jeffrey, Hannah, Christian and Emma, as well as, many beloved cousins. Sandra was predeceased by her sister Karen Hunter Mialy of Florida and son-in-law Joseph Loglisci of Riverdale.
Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx NY is handling the arrangements. Viewing will be held Thursday, March 16th, from 2 - 5 PM and 7 - 9 PM. Church services will be held on Friday, March 17th at 9:00AM at Riverdale Presbyterian Church, 4765 Henry Hudson Parkway, Bronx, NY 10471. Followed by the internment at Mount Hope Cemetery. Jackson Avenue & Saw Mill River Road, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY 10706. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Sandra’s memory to Washington Heights Children’s Center.
