The Reverend Francis J. Principe, 89, died peacefully on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at the Edward Cardinal Egan Pavilion, St. John Vianney Clergy Residence in the Bronx, New York. Father Francis was born in the Bronx to Rose and Frank Principe. He is survived by a dear sister, Yolanda Sirna and a dear brother Eugene Principe. Father Principe’s beloved parents and older sister Mary preceded him in death. Father Principe touched the lives of many nieces and nephews and countless students and faculty at Cardinal Hayes and Cardinal Spellman High Schools. Father was a kind and wise teacher and scholar who inspired many to be humble, peaceful and loving as he was. Many remember Father Principe saying that we all should "Live our lives with more Easter Sundays and fewer Good Fridays". Father Francis Principe was beloved by many and will remain present in our hearts and minds forever.
Reposing Monday June 12, 2017 at Cardinal Spellman High School Auditorium from 5:30 to 7 pm. Mass of the Holy Eucharist will be celebrated at 7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday 11 am at Holy Family Church, 2158 Watson Avenue, Bronx NY. Entombment St. Raymond's Cemetery, Bronx, NY.
