Longtime Riverdale resident, Rafael Nicolas, passed away peacefully on March 15th, 2018. Rafael was born March 21, 1931 in his beloved Santiago, Dominican Republic to Jose Manuel Nicolas and Nidia Antonia Bonilla. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Idalia Nicolas and his daughter Corinne Nicolas, as well, by his brothers Ivan, Jose Manuel and Antonio and his sister Elima. He was a loving husband, father, brother and uncle. An avid baseball fan, he loved his Mets and had a passion for fishing and music. He will always be fondly remembered for the kind and gentle soul that he was.

Reposing Sunday, March 25, 2018 from 3:00-7:00pm at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral, 6110 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx NY. Funeral services will be held at St. Margaret of Cortona on Monday March 26, 2018 at 9:45am. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Yonkers NY.
