Marcella Miller, 82, of Trun, Switzerland passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2018 after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. She died peacefully in her sleep at Mt Sinai Hospital. Marcella was born December 29, 1935 in Trun, a small town in Switzerland to Paul and Ottilia Rensch. She moved to the United States when she was 18 years old and pursued her dream to be a Nurse in the United States. She married her late husband Gilberto Miller on August 1, 1964. After a long and successful career as a private nurse in NYC, Marcella and Gilberto joined forces and invested in Real Estate. Marcella is survived by her son Douglas, daughter-in-law Lisa and granddaughter Isabella. She also survived by her two sisters, Hilda and Sylvia and two brothers George and Jules who all live in Switzerland. She has several Nieces and Nephews in Switzerland, Florida and New York that she was very close to. Marcella was a very strong willed woman who would not stop until she accomplished whatever she set out to do. She will always be remembered for her strength and courage.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home. There will be a memorial service on Friday, July 27, 2018 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx NY. A memorial mass will be held at St Margaret of Cortona on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 9:45am followed by entombment at Saint Raymond Cemetery – Our Lady of Hope Cremation Garden, Bronx NY. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation would be deeply appreciated.
