Edith "Lolly" Moore passed away peacefully on November 15, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Lolly was born on April 12, 1930, to Edith Diedrich and William Caldwell in Harlem, NYC. Lolly lost her dear mother, Edith, at the early age of three. It was something she never got over in life. She, along with her dear sister, Doris, and brother William grew up in the care of her loving Aunt Margaret and her family. There wasn't a day she didn't speak of her dear mother. She loved her so and in later years she often spoke of wanting to be in the loving arms of her mother once again. She fell in love and married Charles "Buddy" Moore in NYC and went on to have three beautiful and devoted children and raised them in Inwood, NYC.
Lolly was loved by all for her loving, kind, empathetic, fun, and generous nature. She was most happy being around her family. She loved each one of them and often gushed with pride when speaking of them. She loved and worried about everyone. Lolly literally felt their pain and their happiness.
Lolly had a special reverence and devotion to the Blessed Mother. She was a source of strength and comfort for Lolly, throughout her life’s trials and tribulations.
Lolly retired from The Putnam Valley Middle School District after many years of working with children. She loved those years and spoke fondly of the children. She worked alongside her dear and devoted sister, Doris. Lolly and Doris were inseparable and shared a special and close relationship throughout their lives.
Lolly is predeceased by her beloved parents, Edith (nee Diedrich) and William Caldwell, her devoted sister, Doris Fredericks and brother William Caldwell, her loving husband, Charles “Buddy” Moore, and her beautiful great-grandson, infant Michael Schimmel (stillborn). Lolly is survived by her three loving and devoted children, John Moore (Patricia), Lauretta, and Richard (Kim), her four loving grandchildren, Janice (Michael), Christopher, Laura (Patrick), and Ralph, and her four beloved great-grandchildren, Luke, Dylan, Patrick, and Lennon. She is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Lolly lived a full and rewarding life. She fought the good fight and kept the faith. It was her time… She will be forever loved and forever missed…Until we meet again… Our sweet Lolly Moore…
