After retiring from the NYPD in 1990, James became a supervising investigator for the Manhattan District Attorney’s office where he worked for another 13 years, finally retiring in 2003. James’ commitment to his career in law enforcement was a testament to his character, in which his sense of duty to serve the public and provide for his family were one in the same.
