Michael McDonagh of the Bronx, New York, was born on August 15, 1936 in Galway City, Ireland. He passed away on March 25, 2021 of natural causes surrounded by his family. Predeceased by his parents Michael and Mary (Collins) and sisters Sally, Peggy, Angela, Cait and Nan along with a brother Padraig. He is survived by sisters Claire, Nora, Ciss and a brother Richard. He is also survived by a son Michael and daughter Sally (Michael). Michael will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Caitlin, Daniel and Ryann and great-grandson Oliver. As well as his step-grandchildren Sean and Mikayla, along with numerous nephews, nieces and friends.
Michael entered the United States on February 16, 1958. He was a bricklayer/plasterer by trade and was well-known for his work. Michael entered the United States Army in 1960 and was honorably discharged in 1962. He earned special commendations for Marksman Rifle and Marksman Carbine. He eventually settled in the Kingsbridge area of the Bronx where he raised his family. Michael was extremely proud of his family and played a big role in raising his grandchildren.
