It is with great heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of John B. Boria on July 23rd, 2021 at the age of 81. He is survived by his wife Madeline, his daughters, Debbie, Lorie, and Christy; grandchildren Katrina, Dennis, Sara, Samantha, Rebecca, and John Michael; Great granddaughter Scarlett Rose; his sister Carmen and brother Joe.
John was born in Gurabo, Puerto Rico on November 8th, 1939, and was raised in New York City by his aunt and grandmother. John was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His love for God, family, and his country were his core values in life. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to his friends, family, and community. Family and friends could always count on John to be there for them in times of need. He was always considered a loving and kind man to all. His deep care and concern for people carried over into his work career.
John worked for the City of New York in various positions for the Department of Human Resources, and retired as a Shelter Security Manager from the Department of Homeless Services (DHS). His love for his country was shown through his serving in the US Army (1961-1963) and serving as County Commander for the American Legion Post #581 (1998-2000)
John retired and relocated with his wife to beautiful Port Saint Lucie, Florida in 2004. We will always cherish his life and memory forever in our hearts. If you would like to honor John’s memory, you are encouraged to donate to either of the following charities:

Wake Thursday 4-7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial Friday 9:45 at St. Margaret of Cortona Church. Interment Calverton National Cemetery in Wade, NY.
