We are heartbroken to announce the death of our beloved Kelly Ann Kenny. She passed on August 5th in Riverdale, NY at fifty-four years old. Kelly was predeceased by her parents Eileen and Jack, her sisters, Kathleen and Kerri Ann, and her brothers Brian (Ellen) and Dennis Kenny. She is survived by her brothers, John (Eileen), Kevin, Edward (Margarita), and Terrence; and her nieces and nephews, Kara, Kaitlyn (Shawn), Brian, Edward, Margarita, Shanna, and Jesse.
Kelly attended Good Shepherd Grammar School and St. Nicholas of Tolentine High School. She earned an associates degree from Hunter College. Her proudest accomplishment was being a
journey-wirewoman with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local No. 3 for over thirty years.
Kelly had a wonderful sense of humor. Her smile and laugh were contagious. She seemed mysterious and private to most people, but was fiercely loyal and honest to her closest group of friends. Kelly had the biggest personality and the smallest workboots. She was a hard worker and always found ways to make difficult jobs bearable for her crew. Traveling to Europe and the Caribbean with her family were the highlights of her summers. She loved to celebrate special occasions but refused to let certain foods touch on her plate. Knowing how particular she was, if she loved you, you knew you were something special.
She will be dearly missed by so many.
Her wake is on Monday, August 9th from 4-7pm at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home. 6110 Riverdale Ave. Bronx, NY 10471. Her memorial mass is on Tuesday, August 10th at 10am at Good Shepherd Church. 4967 Broadway New York, NY 10034. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
