We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our father Ephraim Velazquez. He is survived by his wife Ivette Velazquez. His sons Daniel, Michael, and David and his sister Rebecca.
Born in The Bronx on April 5th 1950 to his parents, Lydia and Efrain Velazquez. A birthday so close to April fools day would set the tone for his wonderful sense of humor and endless jokes. At a young age he would make 2 very close lifelong friends, Toni and Michael. They would remain best friends for almost 60 years, until his passing. A graduate of Aviation high-school and the Academy of Aeronautics, he would then volunteer for the Airforce where they would instead put him into medical training. Though just as with everything else my father did in life, he excelled at that as well. After his tour of service, first Spain for 2 years and then 2 Taiwan, he would meet my mother Ivette and the two would share the kind of love one can only hope to achieve for 47 wonderfully, amazing years. A kind, compassionate, generous and intelligent man. He will be very missed and his family and friends will carry him in our hearts forever.
Memorial services will be held at Riverdale- on-Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Avenue Bronx, N.Y. 10471, Thursday June 23rd at 3pm-7pm. In lieu of flower please send charitable donations to either:
