MARY B. ‘MAUREEN’ NORBERTO (née McHUGH)

MARY B. ‘MAUREEN’ NORBERTO (née McHUGH) entered into eternal life on August 1, 2022, aged 83.

Maureen was born on October 25, 1938, in the Bronx to Patrick McHugh and Winifred (née Toolin) McHugh.

Loving mother of Patrick (Deborah), Ray (Aracelis), Anne-Marie, Michael (Patricia), James (Michelle) and John (Allison). Maureen adored and doted on her eleven grandchildren of whom she was fiercely proud: Chris, Josh, Heather Flegar (Zack), Christian, Amanda, Grace/Gray, Jack, Tyson, Samantha, Alina, and Brendan. She celebrated the birth of her great-grandson, Indiana Patrick Flegar, in 2021. Maureen joins her beloved husband and soul mate Roy who predeceased her in 2013. She also was predeceased by her brothers Michael and Thomas.

Maureen shared her prodigious love with generations of “little ones” for whom she cared and babysat, including two decades running the childcare center at Riverdale Country School.

Wake: Thursday August 4 from 4 to 7 PM at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx.

Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, August 5 at 10 AM at Our Lady of Angels Church, 2860 Sedgwick Avenue, Bronx.
