David James Barko passed away on December 24, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father and friend, who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
David was born in Washington Heights, Manhattan, to Rosanna and Dieter Barko. He made lifelong friends in this close knit community, and met his wife, Diane, at St. Elizabeth’s parish. He went on to spend 37 years at Con Edison, where he was known for his loyalty, not taking no for an answer and a passion for helping others.

David is survived by his loving wife Diane; children Lauren and David; brothers Eddie, Kevin, Timmy, John, and Fred; sisters Kathy, Maura, Liz and Ginny; nieces Erika, Jean, Julianne, Elleanna, Emma, and Georgianna; nephews John, Michael, Jim, Jack, Gavin, and Valentinos. He is also survived by a vast network of friends and loved ones, all of whom he viewed as extensions of family. His memory will be revered by all who knew him, and will continue to live on in the laughter, memories and music we share.
