Ibrahim Cruz, Ivan, Abe, 65, of Bronx, NY, passed away on May 16th, 2024. The wake will be held on Thursday, May 23rd from 3 pm to 7 pm at Riverdale on Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Ave, Bronx, NY 10471. The Mass will be held at Saint Margaret’s Roman Catholic Church, Riverdale, NY at 9:45 am on Friday, May 24th, 2024.

Ivan was born in the Bronx, NY on January 29, 1959. He graduated from Art and Design High School on East 56th Street. Ivan married Maggie on September 9th,1989; they were married for 34 happy and loving years and proud doggy parents to Dax for 19 years. As some of you may know, they first met on the 59th Street train platform every morning when they were heading to work, and well it’s safe to say the rest was history from there. He served 20 years on the Police Force and remained close with his partners after retirement including Jose De la Rosa whose memories will always be cherished. To know Ivan is to know genuine love and compassion. He was the most kind, caring, and giving person you would ever meet. He was a beloved son, husband, brother, uncle, and friend to many. Ivan was very proud to have completed the Tunnels to Towers run, as well as completing the Tour de Bronx bike ride. He also enjoyed playing tennis with his beloved neighbors. We will continue to honor Ivan and keep his spirit in our hearts forever.
