Beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend, Cheyenne Cire Paulson transitioned unexpectedly, at 27, on Apr 22, 2023. Born in The Bronx, New York, on October 28th 1995 to Sharmaine Beecham and Eric Paulson Sr.
Cheyenne grew up in NYC where she attended the Calhoun Elementary private School in Manhattan. Cheyenne continued her academic journey at the St. Marks academy in Marlboro, Massachusetts for high school. She excelled academically and graduated from St.Marks attending Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania where she earned a Bachelor’s in Sociology & minored in computer science.
Cheyenne expressed a love for the performing arts, music , drawing, swimming, fine cuisine, gaming, & most importantly animal!Cheyenne exemplified positivity with her beautiful smile , selfless love, courage & angelic spirit.
In 2016, unfortunately, Cheyenne was diagnosed with lupus , & later on in 2022 Cheyenne suffered from an aortic dissection which formed within her heart. To many this would be heartbreaking news but, to Cheyenne it was an opportunity to demonstrate her strength.
She expressed in her writings her thought, her experience:
“Hug your loved ones. Give them kisses. Take them out if you can. Be there for them. You really never know how much time you have left here.
I am twenty-seven years old, and I am running on borrowed time. There is no telling when the next dissection will come, if I will be able to get to the hospital in time. No telling if my heart will just fail in the middle of the night. I cannot predict my future, I can only experience it for as long as I’m allowed to.
Time…is everything. Time is so valuable.
Try not to let that time go.
It’s 2023.
Please do something you love this year, if not for yourself, then for me.”
When you think of Cheyenne Cire Paulson think of those powerful words from her sweet soul and understand that tomorrow is not promised & that we must love the gift we call the present.
